Two New Animated Pest Movies in the Works

“Household Pests,” is an original idea by Sergio Pablos, the co-creator of “Despicable Me.” The new animated movie is about an imaginative boy who battles with the monsters that lurk under his bed. Pre-production is currently underway in Spain and in Washington, D.C. and is also in collaboration with Marza in Los Angeles.

“Mean Margaret” is based on Tor Seidler’s children book about a cranky toddler that is kicked out of her home until she runs into two woodchucks. Margaret, from a family of nine is then taken in by Phoebe and Fred, the two woodchucks who treat her as their own.

Barry Cook (“Mulan,” “Walking With Dinosaurs”) is directing the development of the project, as Carter Goodrich (Ratatouille,” “Despicable Me”) handles the character designs. The creative size of Marza will be handled by producers Jay Ahn (“The Nut Job”) and Chuck Williams (“Brother Bear”).

The deal for these movies was brokered on behalf of Pigmental.
